IBT Academy Advanced Ballet class covers the most challenging level of classical ballet technique. It is reserved for talented and seriously minded students with several years of ballet training, who have successfully mastered the fundamentals and intermediate steps.

Instructor's approval is required to attend.

This is a fast-paced technique class providing necessary physical challenges to improve stamina and to develop – quickly and efficiently – a higher degree of artistry. Significant increase in dedication, self-discipline, and time commitment are expected.

Classes are 1 h 30 min long.

Advanced Ballet students will learn to move in a big way, dancing over the individual steps and musical phrases in a continuous movement. They will work on achieving total stability and great strength in the back. By the end of the year students will be able to deftly maneuver their bodies featuring high jumps and turns that will appear light and effortless.

Coaching will focus on polishing up the nuances of complex pirouettes, and on bringing to perfection many more adagios, allegros, and other strong center work exercises.

Advanced Ballet is a lever at which integration of all aspects of classical ballet occurs. Great deal of attention is paid to students’ performance quality. Development of artistic expression will be encouraged and refined, in order to prepare students to dance roles in ballets.

Throughout the length of the course renowned ballet masters will be periodically featured as guest instructors.

Advanced Ballet & Pointe students will participate in the end of the year recital. In addition, two observation classes will be held in the studio during regular class time twice a year. At these times parents and family members will be invited to observe, videotape and photograph their children.

IBT Academy Advanced Pointe classes are recommended for experienced students that have completed 2 or more years of pointe work. The technique at this level is very fast and very demanding, and students must have acquired proper strength and ability to safely participate in this class.

For experienced dancers, pointe technique is an essential skill in classical training. IBT Academy Advanced Pointe class is designed to help systematically increase security and control sur la pointe in order to develop important for a classical dancer quality of lightness and artistry.

Advanced pointe students will also learn and analyze classical pointe variations from famous ballet repertoire.
